I have not bought the TV yet but was thinking of doing so with a tiny lcd (maybe 19" or bigger) to replace my computer's monitor. It is an old monitor that works fine its old and the resolution is not the same as the new lcd monitors. Now now I will need to buy a cable to go from the computer's vga to the tv's vga entrance, but has anyone tried this? Does it work as plug and play or does the computer have to have some special configuration?

Hello! I am shopping for a new TV for my bedroom.
Here's a few things I know i want:
Anywhere from 24-32 inches
Budget is $300-$350
Good quality of course!
Can also be used as a computer monitor for a MacBook
Can hook up a dvd player
Can hook up a cable box
A fairly shallow screen (it is being mounted on the wall)
I'm pretty set on an LCD screen but i'm open to other options!
Thank you so much! 10 points for best answer!
Also, budget is a little flexible, I would pay more if its worth it!

I resently just bought a Samsung 32 inch LCD Tv, I tried hooking up my Xbox to it, however i found that the colored plugs don't every have a place to be plugged in. I bought a HDMI cable, Dynex, and plugged it into my tv and xbox and when I tried to change the tv input to HDMI video it said there was no connection
How can i receive my Xbox to work on the tv???? Thanks in advance!!
Ps.
The xbox has 3 red lights, but not the circle of death lights.... the bottom right one isnt lit up which means the xbox is ok
Ps 2
When i try to change the input it says that the source isn't connected even though it is plugged in

I was hooking up a computer that was plugged into the same surge protector as the TV when it stopped working. every of a sudden the tv just close off. Does anyone have any ideas what might have happened?
The tv is still below warranty from Sony and Walmart so it should cost me anything

I have an Optiplex 320 Dell desktop computer. I also have a Westinghouse LCD HDTV. The TV has a VGA port on it and I have used it for my XBOX 360 and for a second monitor for my laptop, so i know it works. Now, I want to use the TV for my monitor for my desktop so I figure just, you know, unplug the VGA cord from my current monitor and plug it into my TV. Well I did that and my TV autosourced to VGA, which it should, however the screen stays black. How do I fix this?

What's the best surround sound system to use for a PS3 and TV?
I have a LG LCD TV, PS3 and SKY HD connected together with HDMI connections and would like to add a surround sound system for gaming and movies. I don't want to pay hundreds of pounds for the system and have an average sized room to put it in so don't need something that will shake the home.
I've been looking at a LG HT304SU 5.1ch DVD Home Cinema System which I may or may not connect with the DVD player but want to know if this system would suit the purpose.
I realise from the previous 'answers' that I've had from a previously posted question that I could pay hundreds of pounds for a system but would like to keep my budget below £300

I have a Sony Vaio VPCFW56 laptop with a full HD 16 inch screen and a built-in blu-ray player. I just recently purchased a Sony Bravia 32 inch full HD LCD TV model number KDL32EX401U. I was gonna receive a stand alone blu-ray player to go with it but a pal of mine said it would be cheaper to receive an HDMI cable and connect the laptop (I don't use it as much as I used to and plus it sounded chilly having my laptop hooked up to my tv).
So I bought an HDMi to HDMI cable from amazon and plugged the cable into both devices. When I go to the HDMI device options on the TV it can't detect my laptop and so despite having the cable connected and following the limited instructions supplied by sony with the tv on how to connect an HDMI device to the TV, I DON'T receive ANY RESULTS!
Please help, as I just bought battle Club on Blu-ray and would really like to watch it on a big screen!!!

Hello i have a entertainment middle with TV. DVD player etc and i installed a 22 by 22 inch fan in the back of it so it can suck out the heat from lcd TV and other stuff .....My question is with this new xbox im not sure where it sucks the air from ...heat leaves the top so it must suck air from the sides but the plastic lines point in a weird way so it seems that 360 is fighting the fan air to suck air inside..... do i need to change fan to push air onto the back of 360 or leave it sucking air from the back?

I have a Sony 120GB PS3 Slim and a Sony 40' LCD TV and am using an HDMI cable to connect the two. The problem that I am having is one where the audio and/or video to my TV goes away. It's really annoying when your playing a game like MW2 online and the audio/video gives out on you. Once the audio/video goes out it usually comes back on within 10 seconds but recently it's been taking almost 30 seconds for it to arrive back on. Is the problem that I'm having with my TV or my PS3? I've also noticed that the audio/video only gives out on the PS3's input so could it be a problem with the HDMI cable not being able to handle the job or could the HDMI socket or PS3 be damaged somehow?
Thank you,
Keith T.

Hi,
I just bought a 37" Vizio HD LCD tv. It's supposed to support 1080P resolution. I have a ps3 I'm using with it. I have an HDMI cable ( a good one) going from the tv to the ps3. Heres the problem....when I play the ps3, the resolution is 1080p...but when I just watch tv the resolution is horrible. everything is coming through in 480i. There is no setting that allows me to switch it or anything. I understand that only certain channels arrive in in HD, but the quality of this is just horrible and pixelated as hell.I used Direct TV, so I have a direct tv box that is not hd. I have read that to have optimum picture, you should use an hd cable box with the tv, however, I have other tvs in the home that support hd, and i use the same direct tv cable box with those....and the picture on those is much better! So I'm really not sure what the problem is. This is a brand new tv, and though I know that an HD cable box would receive me the absolute best results, I am just looking for a nice resolution. So if my other tvs look good without hd cable box, and this one looks shitty, I am wondering if I should try a better brand of tv, or if theres something else wrong here. Any ideas?

I've just bought a new sony 32 inch lcd tv. I was hoping it would fit nicely on a strong bookcase I borrowed from our spare room , but as luck would have it once I removed a couple of the shelves the TV was an inch too wide too fit in that unit.
So I have decided to keep space and receive a wall mount.
Just really want some advice on which mount to buy and how to install it. The wall I'm gonna mount it on is a major masonry wall in our old barn home. It is literally 2 feet of limestone with a coat of plaster on the inside.
Any advice would be great, especially about specifically what bolts/screws I need and any wall mount kits that arrive with masonry fittings would be great to hear about.
P.S. in case you're wondering I do have a mansonry drill and drill bits and every the other basic tools I'd imagine I'll need in order to mount the tv.
THANK YOU!

I possess an original Super Nintendo System (same one I've had since it came out) and my fiance bought me an adapter to be able to connect and play on any tv. The adapter works fine, but the only problem is that it only works on regular old tvs. We both have replaced every of the tvs in both our homes with new LCD's and when we tried to connect the console on the new tvs, it doesn't work. The tv doesn't receive a signal what so ever. We have tried every the different channels, output, input, AV...any option you may have heard off but still nothing. So, I was wondering if any of you out there know if there is such thing as an adapter for new televisions? I know that the Super Nintendo is old school but I've grown up with these games and Im still in adore with them (I'm 22 years old) so it would be very unhappy and disappointing to know that there is nothing else that can be done :( So please if anyone out there knows of anything, please let me know and I will greatly appreciate it.
