Open Question: What is wrong with the sound on my TV?

Ok, so I have a Philips 19" LCD Tv (Model Number 19PFL5422D) that's a few years old. What's happening is that it'll make this low "pop" sound and the sound will cease to work. It's not the connection either, because both AV connections and component connections do the same thing. I haven't tried coax though (because, well let's be honest...what's the point?) So my question is this: Is there something I can do about the loss of sound and if I can't, would it be worth it to bring it to a tech store to have it repaired? The thing is, it used to be my game TV and it's great, so I don't wanna just toss it away. Also, I've got it in my 4 yr old's room, so I don't wanna receive a new one for him to break. I was just wondering if it could be a simple fix or an issue I'd have to pay out the butt to fix.

Open Question: Is this TV a good buy for Gaming?

I am looking for a new TV and came across this... http://www.samsung.com/ca/consumer/tv-video/tv/lcd/LN40B750U1FXZA/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail&tab=spec&fullspec=F I think it is good because it has 240hz and only a 2 ms response time... But, I don;t know if that would suit my needs for gaming. I play at a relatively high level pulling at least 4 hours a day normally so I want to make sure I invest on a good TV. I am also thinking about buying from Future store and am wondering if I should receive the four year warrant. It sounds good on paper but, has anyone actually experienced it? If you have please let me know how they were. Thanks for your input.

Open Question: Which TV to pick? Samsung, or Toshiba.?

I'm trying to decide. I used to have a Samsung LN46B530. I had to sell it when I moved and am getting ready to purchase again. The only problem is I'm now purchasing on a budget, but I want the most TV I can receive for that price. I have about 700 or so to work with. I LOVED my samsung, but its a little out of my pirce range (best price I can find is around $800). So here's what I'm deciding between: Samsung LN40B530 (same model as the one I had, just 40' instead of 46') Toshiba 42HL167 (don't know much about this TV but the specs and reviews I read are about 50/50. Some people absolutely adore it, some absolutely hate it). So help me decide, if you will. Also, if you know another TV between the 40-46" range for a reasonable price that's comparable, let me know that too. The reason why I like the samsung so much is it had a glossy panel/screen overtop the LCD which really made the blacks and colors stand out. I'd adore some help. Thanks everyone!

Open Question: Should i get an HD projector or an LCD HDTV?

i was looking at an HD projector that costs 900-1000 but was wondering if it would be better or equal to an LCD HDTV of a similar price. i will be using it for watching TV and movies. i will have it in a somewhat dark room and use a grey projector screen. unless a white screen would be better. would i be better off getting a 50" lcd tv or would the 100" projector screen make it worth it? here's some info on the projector: The Optima HD20 operates at a native 1080p resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels), while it also is compatible with most computer formats, such as UXGA, WXGA, SXGA+, SXGA, XGA, SVGA, VGA resized, VESA, PC and Macintosh It can also accept common global video inputs and video formats up to 1080p (HDTV, EDTV, SDTV, NTSC, PAL, SECAM). Like every Optoma projectors, the DLP engine operates without filters, keeping ownership and maintenance costs low while ensuring consistent performance throughout the projector’s life. The projection lamp is rated to last up to 4000 hours in standard mode or 3000 hours in bright mode. The HD20 also incorporates a rapid shutdown feature that further reduces ownership costs, and it comes with a one-year parts and labor warranty, with the lamp being covered for 90 days.

Open Question: Samsung 40 inch lcd tv quick green lines help!?

Hi! The tv modeI I have is the Samsung ln40b530. I have videotron as my cable. Well, lately, Ive been noticing that whenever im looking at my tv guide, and i close it, I look like a quick green line on the middle top of the screen for a second while the picture is readjusting itself. It happens like 80% of the time. Im just wondering why it does this. I mean is this the tv or just videotron? If this is the tv, well, frankly, the green lines alone dont bother me, but what im also worried about is can this mess up the tv. I play my ps3 with my hdmi, and its amazingly good, but can these green lines affect the screen? O and, I watch cable through the channel 3 type thing.

Everyone so often i receive these horizontal fuzzy lines running from the top to the bottom of my moniter. I have an LG wide flat screen lcd... I don't remember the exact name of it. It's less than 6 months old. Is the problem within the moniter itself, the wiring or does it have to do with where it connects to my computer? What would cause this sort of problem and if I got back to trade it in for a new moniter will I most likely have the same problem? Thanks. And to explain more clearly, if you ever took a camera and recorded a tv you look black lines slowly running down it.. its kinda like that except there fuzzy and difficult to look.. but just annoying enough to |=vc|
